I've realized that every helpful article I write is basically a free gift to Google. They take my best ideas and put them in a little box at the top of the search page. Then they often don't even link back to the source. They just give the answer away for free.
I am essentially paying to train the machine that is replacing me.

The latest research shows that 61 percent of people do not click on any links anymore.

They read the summary and move on. This is a massive problem because of how our brains work. A study from Aalto University found that when people read those quick AI summaries, they think they understand the topic.

They feel smart for a minute. They confuse recognizing words with actually knowing a skill.

This feeling kills the desire to buy a course or info product. If you already feel like an expert, you are not going to pay someone to teach you. You feel satisfied. You feel finished.
The reality is that these people are just renting an answer for a few seconds. They have zero depth. They have no actual skill.
We have to stop selling facts. Google and AI own the facts now. If you want to stay in business, you have to sell the things a machine cannot do.

- You can provide a real network of people who are doing the same work.
- You can give specific advice on a messy situation that doesn't fit a template.
- You can provide the push someone needs to actually finish a project when they want to quit.
- You can tell a student exactly why their specific plan is going to fail.

I am changing how I talk about my work. I do not want to be a teacher. I want to be the partner who makes sure the transformation actually happens. Information is a commodity now. Results are the only thing left that is worth a premium price.

Lately, I've looked at how Google’s AI Overviews are disrupting the traditional info product business model by intercepting potential customers during the initial research phase.

Data suggests that zero-click searches and reduced click-through rates create a false sense of expertise in prospects, causing them to believe they no longer need to purchase educational courses.

Because consumers now receive instant answers directly on search pages, the critical brand bond typically formed with content creators is shifting toward AI platforms. I'll argue that marketing strategies now must pivot from selling basic information to offering high-value transformation, accountability, and community.

Ultimately, creators need to redefine their value by focusing on human-centric outcomes that automated systems cannot replicate.
